Sterling silver pitcher and sugar T J Megear Phila. 1833. Matched set creamer and two handled covered sugar. Two handled cups were commissioned by the wealthy to mark important occasions. The form derived from English Church plate of earlier centuries. The sugar measures 10 inches high and the creamer 7 and one half. The sugar weighs 467 grams and the covered creamer weighs 980. Excellent condition, signed on base.

Gorham heavy sterling silver porringer. This sterling silver porringer weighs 248 grams which is quite heavy for a sterling porringer. Measures 7 and one half inches long by 2 inches high and 5 and one quarter inches across its center. C1880. The design is a combination of assorted flowers in repousse. The pattern is similar to Kirk and Stieff. Excellent condition.

Sanborns Mexico Sterling desert trowel.

Sanborns Mexico Sterling desert trowel. In 1903 Walter and Frank Sanborn started a small drugstore named "Sanborn's" in 1A San Francisco de Mexico. A man named Frederick W. Davis supervised Sanborn's antiques and fine arts divisions from 1935 on. The three owls (in use since 1931) you can see in the logo represent Frank Sanborn and his two sons. Frank Sanborn died in 1961. The mark on this piece places its origin as somewhere in the early 1930s according to The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks, Hougart. Weighs 170 grams and is 9 and three quarter inches long.

This set is in very good condition with some minor wear to the surface. The set measures 11 and one half inches high with two cover jars that each measures 5 and one half inches high.
